Donating Goods to Second Harvest

Every time you donate your new and gently used items to Second Harvest, you help to fulfill our mission of bringing quality goods at affordable prices to the area. All proceeds are reinvested back into our community. We work hard to ensure that donating to Second Harvest is as easy as possible.

You can help us reduce our expenses by respecting the donation guidelines and avoiding donating items that we cannot sell or that are broken or in poor condition.

Save items for Second Harvest that you’d proudly share with a neighbor or friend.  You can best support our mission by pre-sorting your donations and sending only your best to Second Harvest.  We are a small store, so less is more!

If you have items to donate that are not accepted by Second Harvest, this list might help you find an alternative donation establishment.

There are 2 ways to donate:

  1. Store Drop off
  2. Schedule a Pickup

1. Store Drop Off

We accept donations at our store loading dock (just past our entrance) from 9-12 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday ONLY. We cannot accept donation drop offs in the afternoons, on weekends, or when we are closed.

We are a small store, so less is more! You can best help us by pre-sorting your donations and sending only your best to Second Harvest.

2. Request a Donation Pick Up

We offer donation pick up within the Fox Chapel Area School District. We respectfully request that items are in excellent condition and come from a smoke free home.

Free Pick Up – small items one person can carry
In order to offer this free service, we can only accept small items that are light enough for one person to easily lift and carry. If you have more than 10 bags of items or anything that requires more than one person to move, please request a Furniture Pick Up.

*Our driver will come anytime between the hours of 9am-2pm.  Please leave items outside and protected from the weather.*

Furniture Pick Up – furniture and larger items that require an additional person
We welcome furniture and larger household items and offer a pick up service for a fee of $50.

*Please note that the driver will leave items that we cannot accept or are in poor condition.

Furniture Pick Ups happen within a three hour window.
The 9am pick up appointment can occur anytime from 9am-12pm.
The 12pm pick up appointment can occur anytime from 12pm-3pm.
